No, SpotOn does not use mesh topology. A mesh network has a lot of performance loss and often suffers from malfunctions and obstructions. A mesh network is fine for few users, for example for home use. Not for a professional network, however.

SpotOn only supplies access points that work from the cloud. Usually access points have to be connected to one controller (core router/mother router). This is not necessary with the SpotOn WiFi box! Our controller is in the cloud. So you can connect the Wifi box to any internet cable and the Wifi boxes recognize each other via the controller that is in the cloud. This makes SpotOn's plug&play system so user-friendly.
